We’re in our last stretch of classes before finals and break so before we all take off for the summer, let’s all get together one last time for our final social! In addition, we would like to take some time to show our appreciation for our graduating seniors by hosting an informal party/send-off for them!

**We will have a small presentation during the party for our departing seniors so for those of you graduating, please come if you can!!

Next Saturday, 5/22 we will have our Turning Point event where we go to the transitional shelter to cook food for the people there. It will be from 3-6 PM and rides will be provided at 2:30 PM, locations TBA. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP by next Thursday, 5/20 at 8 PM by clicking HERE and filling out the form.

Hi Everyone!

We want to remind you that this Saturday, 5/15 we have our food bank event coming up where we will be helping to sort out food. The address of the location is 1734 E. 41st Street; Los Angeles, CA. Please remember to wear closed-toed shoes as we will be handling various heavy items and we don’t want anyone to get injured! It will be from 8:45 AM – 12 PM. If you are interested in attending this event, please RSVP by THIS Thursday night at 8 PM. Rides will be provided at 7:50 AM, locations TBA.

To celebrate the end of a great year, we will be having one last social! This is your chance to come out and have some fun before finals! We have some potential dates and ideas for activities so please mark your preferences! It will most likely be held the Thursday or Friday night of 10th week before finals. For all graduating seniors, we highly encourage you all to come as this may be the last chance everyone gets to gather and hang out.

We will be going to San Dimas to volunteer and help out during the celebration of Buddha’s birthday. This is also a chance to see and experience the ceremony conducted at the Tzu Chi Headquarters in San Dimas. It will start around 10 AM and end around 2 PM. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by 5/2 Sunday, 5 PM so that we will have an approximate headcount of the number of people attending. For rides, please be ready by 9 AM, pick-up locations TBA.

Hi Everyone!

This Saturday 5/1, we will have our recycling event at the West LA Tzu Chi office from 9-11 AM. Please bring any kind of recyclables you have (newspapers, water bottles, aluminum cans, etc.). If you have a large amount of recyclables, let us know beforehand and we can pick them up before the event. If you do not have these items, you are still more than welcome to attend and help us sort the recyclables! For those of who who need a ride, please be ready by 8:30 AM, pick-up locations TBA. Our next event is Beach Cleaning this coming Saturday April 24, 2010 from 2:00-6:00 pm. Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes to this event. We would also like to remind you to bring a jacket, sun block, your Bruincard and $0.50 for the bus ($0.25 each way).

We will meet at Ackerman Turnaround at 2:00 pm to take the Big Blue Bus (#2) to Venice Beach.

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a great, restful break! As some of you might remember, we have our Walkathon event coming up this Saturday, April 3rd. We are walking to raise money for the Haiti earthquake disaster relief, so if you plan on walking, please ask for any possible donations from your friends and family! The walkathon will be at the Tzu Chi Headquarters in San Dimas from 9 AM to 2 or 3 PM.

If you need a ride from staff, we will be meeting at 6:30 AM, location TBA. There is a possibility that we will have other drivers available, but that is still tentative. Please indicate on the RSVP form if you need or can provide a ride and we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know about transportation. In addition, if you are planning on walking, there are some forms to fill out which have been emailed out to you. If you did not receive them, please email us at bruintzuching@gmail.com.
